Meet the new Mercedes-Benz GLC43 AMG

GLC

The three most powerful letters of the alphabet have made their way onto the back of Mercedes-Benz’s most award-winning crossover, the GLC-Class. The all-new 2017 Mercedes-AMG GLC43 stares the Audi SQ5 square in the face. It’s on like grey poupon, filet mignon, and donkey kong. In terms of speedy crossovers, few do it as well as Audi. Somehow they’ve always been able to master the art of putting power to the ground, thanks to their advanced Quattro all-wheel drive system. This year, Mercedes-Benz took a crack at it. With a 362-horsepower twin turbo V6 engine and proven 4MATIC rear-wheel biased four wheel drive, the GLC43 AMG gives the long-reigning Audi some stiff competition..

AMG has enhanced the driving dynamics of the GLC to make it feel more car-like to drive while retaining the seating position and practicality crossover utility customers want. This thing is an absolute blast to drive and look at. The first one arrived at Mercedes-Benz of Kansas City via transport truck last week and is being prepared for its new owner. Will that owner be you?

Pairing Homelink in Your Mercedes-Benz

HomelinkMercedes-Benz vehicles equipped with Homelink are very simple to set up. Inside your Mercedes-Benz vehicle, you will notice three buttons on the bottom of your rearview mirror. Those buttons have the ability to open three different garage doors. Setup is easy. Simply hold down one of the three buttons until a light starts flashing yellow. Hold your garage door remote up to the mirror and press the button on the remote and on the mirror simultaneously. When the light underneath the mirror flashes in green, the pairing is complete and you’re ready to go.

Some garage door openers may require you to exit the vehicle and push a button on the opener motor. In this case, a ladder may be required for you to access the pairing button on the garage system. Once you have pushed the button on your garage door motor, you generally have around one minute to enter your vehicle and hold down your desired button under the mirror. When the light turns to a solid red, pairing is completed and successful.

The Mercedes-Benz Metris

MetrisHaving the honor of being the Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle headquarters in Kansas City comes with great responsibility, but also a bit of enjoyment. The other day, a truck full of brand-new Mercedes-Benz Metris vans decked out in Chik-fil-a graphics arrived, and none of the vans were filled with food. What’s up with that? One of these vans was more special than the others. On the top of the windshield in a swoopy font, read the name “Regency.” This special Metris passenger van came with an upgraded conversion package, which set it apart from the rest. Chromed wheels, diamond pattern leather seats with contrast color stitching and a wood-look vinyl floor are just the tip of the iceberg.

The Mercedes-Benz Metris van is already the best compact commercial van on the market, with build quality that is unmatched by the Ford Transit Connect, Nissan NV200, or Ram Promaster. The Metris drives like a tall C-Class, and has a peppy turbocharged engine. It would be a riot if they made an AMG version, but alas, that is not in the foreseeable future. If your small business is looking to grow and become mobile, look no further than the Mercedes-Benz Metris van and Mercedes-Benz of Kansas City for all your commercial van solutions.

Pairing Bluetooth to a Mercedes-Benz

Bluetooth PairingPairing your Bluetooth device to your Mercedes-Benz is possibly one of the easiest tasks when setting up your vehicle. A video explaining the process is available on our Facebook Page for those of you who are visual learners. First, turn the vehicle to Accessory Mode or all the way on. Next, press the “on hook” button on your steering wheel. The voice command will give you a list of prompts. Of those options, select “pair new device.” Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device. At this time, both the vehicle and your device will search for each other. After they have finally found each other and true love… wait, maybe not. Select “MB Bluetooth” and the car and phone will sync and live in perfect harmony.

Bluetooth is a very important convenience and safety device. Please do not text and drive. A call may be less convenient or awkward in some cases, but looking away from the road is not worth your life or anyone else’s. With voice recognition technology, your Mercedes-Benz can do the communicating for you. If you have any further questions, please contact us through our website.
